Nominating Committee Seeking New Members for all CCoT Boards

Wednesday, November 29th, 2017

We Need your Talents

Dear CCoT Members,
The Nominating Committee has been working behind the scenes trying to fill spots on our Boards that help the church run! We’re looking for some new folks to fill in those spots that are open for 2018. We know everyone’s got commitments to family, other organizations, sports, kids, etc. but we also know that serving in church leadership is a great way to get to know people. And we have fun together on every second Wednesday of the month!
We’re seeking new members for all CCoT Boards.

There are five Boards of the church: Board of Deacons, Board of Trustees, Board of Mission & Outreach, Board of Children & Youth, and Board of Community & Communications.  Boards consist of a minimum of 7 and maximum of 12 church members, who are elected at the Annual Meeting for 3 years terms. Boards meet on the second Wednesday of every month except in July and August. For more information about each Board, please see  The Boards assure that the important work of our church gets done.

All 5 Boards currently have openings, and we’re hoping that you volunteer to join one. The commitment is flexible with regard to your schedule. There are plenty of opportunities on each board to help out when you can. Many hands make light work!

If you are interested in serving on a Board, please contact any of the following folks for more information:

*The gift tag for the child you selected will be available in the Fellowship Hall after our Sunday services. Just look for the box in Christmas wrapping, labeled;

We invite you to bring the gifts (wrapped and with tag attached), to the “Gifts of Love” Brunch Fellowship on Sunday, December 17th hosted by BOMO and the Board of Children and Families. We will celebrate your generosity and the fantastic Children’s Pageant performances.

Haven from Hunger – it’s time to fill the truck!

Wednesday, November 1st, 2017

On Sunday, November 19, the truck from Haven from Hunger will be arriving during our Sunday worship service for our church to fill with groceries for replenishing their food pantry located in Peabody. If you are unable to bring groceries to church on 11/19, a bin will available during the preceding week in the church office. Non-perishables such as canned tuna, vegetables, soups, spaghetti sauce, seasonings, or gift certificates to local supermarkets will be most welcomed.
Haven from Hunger’s food pantry provides over 1,800 households with fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, dairy, and canned goods. Last year, they distributed enough food for close to 600,000 meals.

In July 2017, Haven from Hunger merged with Citizens Inn, a nonprofit organization that provides a full spectrum of services to families and individuals on the North Shore experiencing a housing crisis or food insecurity. We will be hearing more about Citizens Inn and the merger from its Executive Director, Mr. Corey Jackson, during our worship service on November 19.

Our church has long been a supporter of Haven from Hunger. Please join the Board of Mission and Outreach in filling the pantry to overflowing for the upcoming holiday season.
