Help Us Stock Up In June

Friday, June 12th, 2015

Groceries for Good is asking all Congregation members to help us STOCK UP IN JUNE!  During the summer, food donations drop off, and the Top Cupboard Pantry shelves become quite bare.  Please help us to prevent that by donating lots of food items in June, so that while many are away enjoying summer vacations, the folks who need assistance will continue to find the pantry shelves full!

Items to donate include: creamy peanut butter, ketchup, mustard, coffee, tea, canned pasta, sugar, healthy soups, canned vegetables, jelly, mayonnaise, tuna, chicken, cereal, meals in a can (beef stew, etc.), pasta, pasta sauce, salad dressing, canned fruit, vegetable oil, rice, liquid hand soap, laundry detergent, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.

Be Part of the CCoT Community Garden

Friday, June 12th, 2015

Our church leadership is starting a vegetable garden on the church grounds and donating the produce to local food pantries.  But we need help and folks to “tend the garden.”   We are looking for volunteer teams to do the watering, weeding and harvesting.  The produce we grow will be given to local food pantries and provide those who are in need with fresh food.

If you have an interest in helping, please sign up indicating the dates you will be available this summer.   You can commit for one week or multiple weeks at different times during the summer.  We will organize by weeks with teams that “ tend the garden”  for that week.

This is a perfect opportunity to share your time and talents, help others and do it when you can. It is the opportunity to act upon your faith and enjoy seeing that the results will help others. Sign up at the church office or contact Steve
Whelan or Martha Morrison at
indicating your interest.

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015

Volunteers Needed!!

Each July CCOT sponsors the Topsfield Rest Stop

for the Cycle for Shelter for the Emmaus House fundraiser.  This year’s event will take place on Sunday, July 26.

The riders will stop by the gazebo in front of the Emerson Center on the commons for refreshments as they pass by on either the 60 or 100 mile ride.

We need volunteers to fill 2 hour slots from 10:15 AM – 3:15 PM.

We also need help directing riders from Route 97 to the gazebo so they don’t miss the rest stop.

It is a great way to meet a lot of interesting people and help raise money for Emmaus House.

Please contact Claudia Worth at if you can volunteer for one or two hours.

Open to the Community, Sunday, June 7, Recital of Violin & Viola

Monday, June 1st, 2015

A studio recital of violin and viola students of Maria Benotti.  Performers will be Maria’s violin students from  New England Conservatory Preparatory School as well as private students.

Students will perform a wide range of music by Mozart, Bach, Laló, Mendelssohn, DeBeriot, and Kabalevsky, accompanied by professional pianist Lorena Tecu.
•Date: Sunday, June 7
•Time: Programs begin at 1:30 PM and 3 PM.
•Place: CCoT Meeting house

Public is warmly welcomed. These students have worked hard and accomplished a great deal, and they will love playing for community members, especially for other children, so bring your family! It can be so inspiring to young people to see and hear other young people making music! It certainly inspires me to have such committed students, and I hope for them to have a real audience!
