CCT New Service Sunday Tradition Continues

September 24th, 2018

On October 14th during the coffee hour following worship, we will continue our new monthly tradition of Service Sunday after taking a short break this summer. This time, we will be supporting Community Giving Tree, which is an organization located in Boxford that provides low income families with basic necessities such as clothing, diapers, and baby equipment. On October 14th, the Board of Mission & Outreach will provide diapers, wipes, and small baby items such as bibs and pacifiers. The intergenerational activity for the congregation will be to create diaper bundles and baby supply gift bags as well as cards of encouragement for the mothers in need. Please feel free to invite friends and family outside of the church community to join you, and any additional donations you might like to bring of new packages of bibs, wipes, and pacifiers would be more than welcome as well. We were very grateful for the opportunities to support Lifebridge Homeless Shelter in Salem with blessing bags and Operation Gratitude via letters for deployed troops, first responders, new recruits, and veterans via our first Service Sundays, and we look forward to kicking off a new season of service with you on October 14th!
Thank you!

Save the Date! We Need Your Help!!

August 16th, 2018

The Fair will start on Friday, September 28th and end on Monday, October 8th.

Join in the 200th Anniversary celebration of the Topsfield Fair. Please volunteer for our booth this year. Meet and make friends, laugh, and enjoy while volunteering to support the church.

Everyone can help us make this another “stellar” year by giving a few hours of your time. We pay for your entrance and parking fees. Come early or stay late and take in the fair. You also get a credit for food at our booth when you work. Bring your friends and neighbors.

Looking forward to seeing your smiling faces.

Gather for June Service Sunday June 24th after worship

June 21st, 2018

The Board of Mission and Outreach says, “thank you so much” to everyone who participated in our inaugural Service Sunday in May where we built 50 blessing bags for the homeless during coffee hour. Lifebridge Homeless Shelter in Salem was extremely thankful for our efforts and donations upon delivery of the blessing bags! We would also like to express our gratitude again to the Topsfield dentists who donated all of the dental hygiene products that were included in the blessing bags – Dr. Peter McAllister, Dr. Meryl Atwood, Dr. Gregory Carroll, and Dr. Thomas Carroll.

Our June Service Sunday will be held after worship during “Lemonade on the Lawn” on June 24th. This month’s activity will be to write letters of gratitude to Deployed Troops, Veterans, New Recruits, and First Responders via the organization, Operation Gratitude. You can learn about the organization, as well as tips for writing letters of gratitude, at the following link.
We will also provide these tips to you at the letter writing stations which will be set up on the lawn on the 24th.

As with the Blessing Bag Build in May, this will be an intergenerational activity which will be fun for people of all ages. Children or adults can feel free to draw pictures instead of writing letters if they prefer with the art supplies we provide. ***If you are unable to attend on the 24th, please feel free to review the letter writing guidelines at the link above and submit letters to the church office in advance. You can also hand them to a BOMO member at worship if you are unable to join us on the lawn on the 24th.

Service Sunday will return as a monthly activity for the congregation in September. We would love to hear about organizations YOU would like us to consider supporting at future Service Sundays. Please share your feedback with us by emailing BOMO chair, Jim Barnes at jhbarnes1@mac.com.

Thank you!
