Portland, Maine

Hosted by the Maine Conference UCC
at the Holiday Inn by the Bay Portland, Maine

Friday, 4/6/18, we arrived at the Holiday Inn, got our room and then went to the Art Museum for about an hour. We arrived back for dinner with all the ladies at their table. Had a nice Greeting and Introduction around the Table and Speaker and Worship with songs. Afterwards we went to the Holy Mall for the marketplace to see clothes, guilts, knitting, craft books, things to read, etc. A lot of wonderful crafts, etc. were from African people in New England. When we were on our own time, we could go to Holiday Inn pool, Fitness Center, and the Pub ‘till 1:00 AM.

Saturday, 4/7/18, Holy Mall opens and then breakfast with Speaker; Worship with music and then to the Workshops. After 1-1/2 hours to lunch with Speaker and Worship and then to the afternoon Workshops. On our own for a few hours, and then dinner with Speaker, Worship and a Concert of “Women in Harmony”. That was great to hear!

Sunday, 4/8/18, Breakfast with Speaker; Worship, Prayers, Offertory, Prayers, songs, Passing the Peace.

It was a lovely special time for Church, songs, food buying things, meeting new people, with about 2000 people there! They will have another gathering in four (4) years!

Learn how to turn your holiday buffet table into a beautiful work of art, as cooking instructor Liz Barbour demonstrates how to use found objects, fruits, vegetables, fine china, fresh herbs, and flowers to create a three-dimensional still life for you and your dinner guests to enjoy.

Following Liz’s demonstration she will offer a cooking demonstration of 2 seasonal recipes. The finished recipes, works of art in themselves, will be placed onto the Still Life buffet for all to taste and enjoy. Add in Liz’s easy cooking technique tips and you are on your way to creating great meals you can prepare at home. Light refreshments will be served.

A fun opportunity for learning and fellowship!
